An Interview With Anna-Marie Rytter, Teen Blogger!

Hi there!

Recently I got the opportunity to team up with another teen blogger named Anna-Marie Rytter who runs the site, An entrepreneur, writer, and occasional YouTuber all at the age of sixteen, she’s making her dreams come true and blogging about her life and interests! I asked her a few questions and here is what she had to say in response…

What is your site about?

The Story Of My Life is basically about, well, my life. It’s just something I created one day when I was bored. I came across an old blog that my mom created in 2008, called LoveMyMac (), that I used to write on when I was a kid. I looked through all the old posts there, and thought, “hey, I’m gonna create my own WordPress blog!” It was just something I created because I was bored, and I wanted a place where I could blog about anything.

When did you start blogging?

I started blogging in about 2008 or 2009. Like I said, I had done some posts on my mom’s blog, but I really wanted my own blog. So in February or March 2009, it’s hard to remember the exact date, I started my own blog with my parent’s help. A Kid’s Point Of View () started out as a blog where I would write about anything on my mind… but over the years, it’s turned into more of a fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and celebrity gossip blog. And the rest is history!

What inspired you to start blogging?

So many people I admire had created blogs at the time… I remember I went through an iCarly phase when I was about 10. I wanted to share my thoughts with the internet, like Miranda Cosgrove did on her TV show! Haha! I have always enjoyed writing…. the first story I ever wrote in grade 2, “Barbie and the Flu Shot”, brought tears to all the teachers’ eyes, so I kinda just continued writing after that. I think my love for writing really inspired me to start my first blog.

What has been your favorite post so far?

This isn’t really my favorite, but the most memorable blog post was my first one on A Kid’s Point of View; I wrote about the new Disney show– well, it was new at the time– “Sonny With A Chance”. I started my blog the day after that show premiered, so that was the inspiration for my first post! As for my favorite blog post… it changes all the time. Right now, it’s probably one I did today on my business website, Rustic Christian Signs… it’s the newest one, called Passion. I haven’t really been into writing on AKPOV lately, like writing about celebrity gossip just isn’t my passion anymore. So I decided to write a huge post about how I feel.

Who inspires you?

I have a lot of inspirations, in writing, in music, and in my personal life. My parents are #1. They encourage me to keep achieving my dreams and support me in whatever decisions I make. I told them that I had created The Story of My Life, and they totally supported my decision to start a personal blog. There are a lot of people in music who inspire me to achieve my dreams. Nick Jonas, Tori Kelly, Ed Sheeran… they’re all incredible singers/songwriters, and I find that their lyrics inspire me to keep writing. In my personal life, I find that music just inspires me in a way that I can’t even begin to describe.

In several years, what do you see yourself doing?

In several years, I see myself continuing to encourage and uplift people with inspirational posts (and with my Rustic Christian Signs business, of course!). I would also like to become an actress someday; I’ve always loved drama, and I’m actually doing a drama class at school this coming year, so I’m really excited about that. If I started acting, I would love to star in some inspirational movies.

What kind of posts do you love the most?

I really like inspirational stuff. Posts about confidence, inner beauty, hope– those are all my favorites. I’m trying to write posts like that; posts that will motivate whoever reads them. 8) What blogs do you follow? I love Bethany Dillon’s blog ( ). Even though she hasn’t written any blog posts since 2010, I’m looking at her blog for inspiration. She’s one of my favorite Christian singers, so when I found out she had a blog too, I was ecstatic! I’m also following , your blog, and a few others.

What would you say to inspiring bloggers?

If you want to do anything in life, I would say, go for it! If you have a dream, don’t be afraid to take the steps to achieve that dream. Set goals, work hard, and you will get to the top someday. Never lose sight of who you are or where you came from. Constructive criticism is a good thing; it will help you learn some new skills and become stronger. Ignore the people who try to discourage you; from what I’ve learned, they’re probably just jealous of how successful you are. Don’t let the criticism get to you 🙂 I have a few quotes to share with anyone who wants to achieve their dreams: “How can we succeed, if we never try? It is only by trying that we can reach greater heights.” ~Lailah Gifty Akita “Don’t be afraid to stand out.” ~Britt Nicole “Live like you’re at the bottom; even if you’re at the top” ~Jonas Brothers “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” ~Kelly Clarkson
